The wife had succeeded in staying divorce proceedings brought by the husband by claiming to have initiated them herself first in Nepal. The husband had applied to lift the stay and thus it was set for a contested hearing. Counsel was able to convince the court to lift the stay and allow divorce proceedings to go ahead in the UK. He was also able to obtain costs. The client was happy with the result.
