Criminal Law – Snaresbrook Crown Court

Counsel Jerry Sodipe represented the defendant at Snaresbrook Crown Court, who had been charged for possession of controlled drugs with intent to supply – Class B in two different cases and possession of criminal property of about £44,000. What aggravated the defendant’s case was that he committed the latter offence just two days after the sentence hearing for the 1st offence was adjourned late last year, 2021.

However, considering personal mitigation offered on behalf of the defendant regarding his age, academic qualifications, remorse and instances of domestic abuse at home and the current situation in the prisons the Judge imposed a 9 months suspended sentence on all three counts. Class B x 2 ; possessing criminal property of £44,000 ;

Counsel was able ensure that the defendant was spared immediate custody with 3 months curfew and 100 hrs unpaid work. No prosecution cost. Victim surcharge of £150.00.

The client was incredibly happy with the result.
